The Art of a Media Sponsorship: Berkley Art Bash

June 26, 2012

One of the core practices in our apartment marketing at Urbane Media is to promote the communities – nightlife, great places to eat and drink, fabulous clothes to wear, music and events – things that draw residents and prospective residents to the areas in which our clients serve like the Berkley Art Bash, a one-day art fair in Berkley, Mich.

We found the Berkley Art Bash to be an excellent media sponsor opportunity for The Urbane Life and its client/sister blog, Paragon Life. It was an event that had a strong appeal and online shareability with our target markets and demographics.

Between May 4, 2012, and June 9, 2012, the Berkley Art Bash banner ad (provided by the Berkley Art Bash) at the top of The Urbane Life was seen by 11,999 sets of eyes. The Urbane Life ran nine stories about some of the artists, stores and musicians involved with the Berkley Art Bash that were read by 282 viewers between May 16 and June 9. Paragon Life picked up another 101 viewers in the six stories that ran on its site between May 23 and June 6. We also devoted 29 Facebook posts and 21 Twitter posts to the Berkley Art Bash during that time.

In return, The Urbane Life got prominent logo/link placement on the Berkley Art Bash website. While we did not take advantage of booth space offered to us at the Berkley Art Bash, we felt this was a great opportunity to highlight the neighborhood of our Urbane on Catalpa apartments, which is also easily accessible to 11 other Urbane communities in Birmingham, Clawson, Ferndale and Royal Oak.

“We’re really pleased with our partnership with Urbane Media,” says April McCrumb, organizer of the Berkley Art Bash. “The articles showcased a diverse variety of our event offerings and were easy to share & help spread the word. We also had record number attendance which I’m confident Urbane Media played a part in.”
