Bringing Home the Bacon to Baconfest Michigan

If Baconites couldn’t smell the bacon, The Urbane Life and its sister/client publications, Paragon Life and Street Eatzz, played a big part in leading them to Baconfest Michigan on June 2 at the Royal Oak Farmers Market as a media sponsor.

Between May 1 and June 4, over 8,100 readers found out about Baconfest Michigan on the banner ad on the top of The Urbane Life pages 13,349 times. Thirty-one of them clicked on the link, which took them directly to the Baconfest Michigan website.

But that’s not all we did to lure baconvores to Baconfest Michigan. Three hundred ninety people read eight stories about Baconfest, plus a follow up story after the event. Another 162 people licked their chops over Baconfest stories in Paragon Life and Street Eatzz. Plus, The Rattlesnake, Dino’s Lounge, Rock City Pies, Gord’s Canadian Bacon, Lazybones Smokehouse and Treat Dreams got plugs as places to pig out on bacon.

We also used the combined powers of our social media skills to bring home the bacon in 43 Facebook posts and 30 tweets.

In exchange, Baconfest Michigan provided The Urbane Life with $45 general admission tickets that were popular giveaways on The Urbane Life Facebook page, especially when the event sold out in advance. Banners at the event and prominent company and logo acknowledgement on its website and print programs gave The Urbane Life a prominent presence in front of our target market.

We were also able to offer Baconfest Michigan some free entertainment by having Chef Tom from Street Eatzz do a cooking demo where he was able to show event guests how to use Street Eatzz 313 Hot Sauce (coming to stores soon) in ways they never imagined using hot sauce and bacon, of course.

As we’ve maintained with previous media sponsorships, events like this bring us plenty of story opportunities to provide content of interest to our readers plus enahnced marketing outreach that events like Baconfest Michigan couldn’t afford. Now that’s bringing home the bacon!
