How to Rent Apartments on Facebook

We have been on our soapbox here at the Urbane Laboratory about the number of Facebook Fans a small business or Apartment Community needs to create traction. Until you have mustered up a few thousand Facebook Fans narrowly targeted to your ideal demographic you are mostly talking to yourself. There just isn’t anyone there.

That said, if you have a strategic plan in place to effectively grow your Facebook Fan Base, and you are actually achieving growth, then you might want to consider starting to “Tune Up” your Facebook Page.  While your overall Facebook Marketing Goals include engagement and community building, your Facebook Marketing Strategy also should be steeped in increasing occupancy

Few explain marketing and the purpose of business like Peter Drucker.

“Because the purpose of business is to create a customer, the business enterprise has two—and only two—basic functions: marketing and innovation. Marketing and innovation produce results; all the rest are costs. Marketing is the distinguishing, unique function of the business.

Interactive Applications for Facebook

iFrames are a scrolling text box that holds content from outside the webpage. You can link the iframe to show anything from anywhere on the web with the use of iFrames. The most popular page on our Urbane Apartments web site is the Availability Page. We have created an iFrame on our Urbane Life Facebook Page that feeds directly from our web site. We update our Availability Page daily, but only have to update that in a single place.

The Availability Tab is on the left hand side of the page and allows Fans and users to opt in view available apartments, videos of the apartments and pictures of the unit. This has become the second largest driver of traffic to our web site behind Craig’s List.

We have also developed and are adding Facebook Applications so that residents can Pay Rent on line right from our Facebook Page, as well as Service Requests.

We would be happy to help your apartment community Facebook Page with interactive applications as well.

Retail Applications

We coordinate digital marketing for a local retail furniture chain with eight stores in SE Michigan, and have grown their Facebook Fan Base to just under 10,000 Fans. We have built three different iFrame Applications for them;
