Do You Have to Dress Liked a Stuffed Shirt at Work
Flip Flops in the leasing office likely do not fit the average property management dress code. That stodgy corporate apparel needs to go. Who ever decided that dressing folks up to look like stuffed puff balls was a great marketing idea? And then, what is the alleged correlation between “look alike dress” and “professionalism”
We say that is a bunch of Corporate Bunk!
Have Some Fun
Whenever this topic surfaces the property management pundits storm the flag with their “professionalism” remarks, which is fine, except that may not fit best with your target demographic. According to Wikipieda, a professional is identified as follows
The word professional traditionally means a person who has obtained a degree in a professional field. The term is used more generally to denote a white collar worker, or a person who performs commercially in a field typically reserved for hobbyists or amateurs.
Is Profesioanlism an Act or a Look

Not sure that fits with the average apartment community site staff. Why do management companies require those crazy, very hot zoot suits? We vote for letting your hair down, and having some fun. Will Flip Flops Kill the Numbers
One can only assume that at least part of the executive decision on what our beloved site staff should wear everyday has to do with the numbers. Those pesky conversion ratios, closing ratios, and yes, Rentals. Nope, we are hear to report, it makes little difference what type of shoes your staff wears, here are @Heather_Urbanes numbers for last week, not bad for wearing Filp Flops everyday, lol!

The level of professionalism that is required often depends on the area that you are working in. Someone looking for a multi-million dollar penthouse apartment probably wouldn’t have confidence with someone wearing torn jeans and flip flops. However, a young adult looking for their first place may see that as being perfectly acceptable. Professionalism shouldn’t be uncomfortable but if you want to make a good impression with potential clients/ tenants than you should probably stay away from flip flops.

Totally agree with you here. Not sure that this blog post only working for professionalism is a Wikipedia source. Seems a little limiting. Just a thought.
