Who’s talking about your blog? BackTweets knows

At The Urbane Way we’re always on the lookout for the latest tools and useful resources to measure communication and keep our PR arsenal fully stocked. We were particularly taken by this post in The Comm’s Corner detailing 10 free social media tools.

This week we’re going to delve into those recommended tools and try them out for ourselves. We’ll let you know how it goes – what we like, what works, what doesn’t work for us.

We started with BackTweets. Because let’s face it, we love Twitter. We spend a good deal of our days populating blogs with local content for ourselves and our clients and tweet it out to the Twitterverse. What happens then? BackTweets knows. Just plug in a URL and it uncovers the path – unobstructed by a URL shortener – to show us who retweeted and commented on our posts. If anyone referred to that Web site, BackTweets will find it.

Monitor your campaigns, see how many times the site address appears. It can’t be easier to use. We’re adding BackTweets to our tool belts and think you might want to do the same. Have you tried it? Know of anything like this? Do tell us about it.
