It seems as though we are all being asked to do more and more each day with less and less. Pushing back and yammering for more help to the boss isn’t likely a good idea, and it comes across bad. An option is to Look Within. Yep, there is some mighty good talent right under your nose, our Residents. At Urbane we have really leveraged our resident base. The following items have been built and or maintained by a current or former resident;
➢ Our Urbane Web Site was built and is maintained by a current resident
➢ Our Urbane My Space Site was completely redesigned by a current resident
➢ Our Urbane Blog is mostly staffed by residents
➢ Our Urbane Flickr site , Most of the pictures have been taken by residents
➢ Our Urbane Events Coordination is done by a current resident
➢ Our Urbane You Tube Videos were mostly done by residents
➢ Marketing Videos are being professionally produced by a former resident
➢ Part Time Leasing Consultant has been done by a former and current resident
The point here is that you too can tap into your resident base for quality outsourcing. Lots of folks are looking for part time gigs these days, so you have a win, win. No one knows your brand better than your residents. And, how better to create Brand Awareness when coming directly from the customer.
We are working hard to lead our Resident Influencers within our core resident base, and have transitioned most of our marketing budget inward, to further focus on our existing residents. Only good things have happened from this move. Resident retention has significantly improved, and we have created a forum and a field for the Influencers to participate. Along the path we are learning a lot about Social Media as to what works for multifamily and what doesn’t. We are learning as we go, but are seeing stellar results.
