Everyone is blogging, these days, are you or the property you manage? It is easy to start and to create community at your sites. You can enlist help from your residents. It may surprise you at how talented some of your residents are, and how there interests in certain topics create some passion for your property, and engage others around them.

We have been fooling around with our UrbaneBlog.com for several months, but only recently hit on some ideas that are starting to work. The real difference was involving residents as Guest Bloggers. Readership and our following are growing.

What are the costs of this, nothing, just some time, it actually pays you a dividend. You have engaged your residents and created community. But,………..don’t thinks you are going to control the message, you can’t, and that is not what Social Media is about. The benefits far outweigh the risk, try it today

Couldn’t agree more, Eric. I think there are huge potential benefits for communities that start blogging.I would add that you can’t do it in a vacuum. Get out there, find your residents and other local influencers who are already blogging, and start leaving comments on their posts. When you are getting started, they probably get more traffic than you anyway… Commenting shows you’re engaged in their interests, and it leaves a handy trail back to your own site/blog.
